The paper cutter grip used to perform paper cutter chokes is a powerful pinning position.
Once this grip is secured, it is exceedingly difficult for your opponent to escape. This can be used for self defense purposes to pin the opponent.
To make the pinning position more potent, the top player can sprawl out on top of their opponent, getting their weight onto their toes. Engaging the toes to push into their opponent, they can apply tremendous pressure with their shoulder.
The opponent’s far arm should be controlled by grabbing their hand/wrist, or pinning it with your head so they cant punch you.
Another technique to make the pin more potent is for the top player to push their opponent’s face with their free forearm and shifting some of their weight on top of it. This makes it hard for them to roll towards you to escape and makes it hard for them to hit you with any kind of real force.
