id command

The id command on Linux and Unix-like systems displays a user’s username and group memberships along with their corresponding UID and GID values.

Example output:

% id uid=1000(daniel) gid=1000(daniel) groups=1000(daniel),20(dialout),24(cdrom),25(floppy),27(sudo),29(audio),30(dip),44(video),46(plugdev),100(users),106(netdev),111(bluetooth),113(lpadmin),116(scanner),123(wireshark),126(vboxusers)
