From lasso guard, switch grips and set up the omoplata. When executing the omoplata, tori modifies their leg movement, cutting an angle with their knee downwards in between uke’s armpit and ribs. Tori should be able to lay their shin flat on the mat, stapling uke’s arm to the mat. From here, tori turns their hips to be more in line with uke’s head/neck, making it easy to sit up and reach across uke’s back, controlling the far side lapel underneath uke’s armpit if possible.
From here, tori can either pull uke back or front roll over uke to secure the omoplata crucifix.
