Rodeo Guard is a guard in BJJ commonly set up from omoplata positions. In this guard, the tori has both of their legs across the opponent’s back, one controlling near the belt, the other across the back of uke’s head. Tori’s hands will be grabbing the collar with one grip, and the belt or far side lapel with their other hand, with both hands between tori’s knees.
This position is a similar orientation to how someone would be seated on a bull or bronco at a rodeo, hence the name.
