From lasso guard, an opportunity to submit the opponent with an omoplata may exist.
First, the guard player will get a two on one grip on the opponent’s sleeve/hand.
Next, the guard player lets go with the standard/traditional gripped hand, leaving them with a “backwards” lasso grip.
Now, the guard player can use the free hand to reach up and cup the opponent’s shoulder or tricep with their hand, pulling the arm open to expose it for the omoplata.
Finally, the guard player pulls and kicks their leg through, swinging their leg and body over the top of the opponent’s head, and then hammers the foot/leg towards the mat to secure the omoplata.
