micro drilling (BJJ)

Micro drilling is a training strategy that can be applied to BJJ, Judo, wrestling, and other martial arts techniques and movements where the practitioner breaks one move down into several stages or micro-movements, and drills those specific micro movements, transitions, or stages of the move rather than the entire move.

This can be done to develop speed and accuracy at the points of the technique in which speed and accuracy are more meaningful, or to “smooth out” difficult stages of the move for the individual.
