single leg takedown

0001-01-01

The single leg takedown is a common takedown seen in BJJ, wrestling, MMA, and other grappling martial arts.

This takedown is initiated by the aggressor “shooting” on their opponent’s leg in a fast or explosive motion, initiating control over one leg. From here, the aggressor can manipulate and off-balance their opponent in a number of ways to force them to the ground.
