pinning position

0001-01-01

In BJJ and other grappling martial arts, a pinning position refers to a dominant position in which one combatant holds their opponent firmly against the mat.

In many forms of wrestling, combat sports, and grappling rulesets, pins score points for one contestant, or result in the end of the match with the contestant maintaining control over their opponents is declared the victor.
