back control (BJJ)

0001-01-01

Back control is a dominant position in BJJ and other grappling martial arts.

The combatant with back control is positioned behind their opponent, with their heels between the opponent’s thighs and controlling one of the opponent’s arms below the shoulder.

This position provides access to chokes and other neck attacks.
