lingua franca, C

0001-01-01

C is often referred to as the “lingua franca” of programming languages.

a lingua franca is a common language or protocol that different groups of people can at least understand and use on a basic level with others who may not speak their native language. This is akin to many modern spoken languages having roots in Latin.
